A Milestone in Signal Construction: DPB Rail Infra Service GmbH Implements Signals Produced In-House

DPB Rail Infra Service GmbH has taken an important step forward in the field of signal technology: For the first time, signal systems were entirely designed, manufactured, and assembled in-house.

The Control and Safety Technology division handled all production steps internally—from technical planning and the manufacture of masts and signal signs to mechanical and electrical assembly, delivery, and the successful commissioning of the systems.

In the company’s own metalworking shop, certified according to EN 1090-2, advance and main signals as well as protective and shunting signals were manufactured, among other items.

As part of the project for the ÖBB Lieboch-Köflach line, a total of 24 signal, including shaped panels and LED light points, were produced and successfully installed this year. The stations at Söding-Mooskirchen, Krottendorf-Ligist, and Lieboch were equipped.

Preparations for this began as early as late summer 2025 with detailed planning and material procurement. Following the delivery of the first signals at the end of April 2026, their acceptance by ÖBB marked the successful completion of the project.

By independently manufacturing nearly all of the required steel components and producing complete signaling systems in-house, DPB Rail Infra Service GmbH is sustainably expanding the DPB Group’s portfolio in the field of control and safety technology. This marks the achievement of another significant milestone, enabling the company to implement projects even more comprehensively as a turnkey or general contractor from a single source.
