A key section is the 13-kilometer stretch between Feldkirchen and Weitendorf, which is the last new construction phase and is almost complete. This section includes a 3,2-kilometer underground section and over 10 kilometers of open track.

The installation of modern railway technology began in February 2022. Track construction work was completed in April 2024, followed by the installation of the overhead lines starting in May 2024.

The final deadline for completion of the railway equipment was met in mid-October 2024. This means that nothing stands in the way of the Koralmbahn's full commissioning by the end of 2025. The DPB provided almost 6 million euros in services.
