The comprehensive renovation of the tunnel chain between Golling and Werfen along the A10 Tauern Autobahn has been completed – a key ASFINAG infrastructure project covering approximately 14 kilometers. Five tunnels, including the Ofenauer and Hiefler tunnels, and the Werfen tunnel group, have been modernized in terms of safety and structural integrity.

DPB GmbH was significantly involved in two construction lots:

• In the first construction lot, DPB, as a joint venture, assumed responsibility for the preliminary electrical and mechanical work. The planning and implementation of the electrical and mechanical components included, among other things, emergency call systems, inspection niches, cables and wires, distribution systems, gates, and other components.
• In the second construction lot, as a subcontractor, DPB was responsible for significant parts of the electrical and mechanical planning and equipment of all tunnel systems, such as lightning protection, ventilation, energy supply, emergency call systems, video surveillance, traffic data acquisition, steel construction, doors, air conditioning systems, cable laying, fiber optic technology and their commissioning.

With a Total volume of around 36 million euros DPB once again demonstrates its competence in the implementation of complex large-scale projects. Open to traffic on June 26, 2025 marks not only the successful completion of the project, but also an important contribution to the long-term performance and safety of the high-level road network in Austria.
