Groundbreaking ceremony for the renovation of Hall 4
The conversion of Hall 4 at DPB Rail Technical Service GmbH in Krieglach marks another important milestone in the site's development. With this project, the company is expanding its technical capacities and creating additional infrastructure to meet future requirements in the maintenance and technical services of rail vehicles.
Key data on the construction project:
The new hall will have a total area of approximately 2.600 m². Construction officially began in December 2025, and completion is scheduled for June 2026.
The following measures are planned as part of the renovation:
- Construction of 5 new workshop tracks
- 3 work pits (30 m each) for heavy maintenance on rail vehicles (total track length of 55 m to the transfer table)
- 1 elevated inspection and measurement track
- 1 maintenance track including a work pit for vehicles over 100 m in length, which will make reprofiling possible in the future on our modern underfloor wheelset lathe for rail vehicles up to 140 m in length.
- 3 new overhead cranes
The investment in Hall 4 will create new jobs and expand the range of services offered by DPB Rail Technical Service GmbH. The additional capacity will sustainably strengthen the company's competitiveness. Further development steps to increase the attractiveness of the location are already planned for the connection starting in June 2026.
